2023-18 AN ORDINANCE TO REESTABLISH AND AMEND THE FULL-TIME SALARY OF THE WATER PLANT SUPERINTENDENT AND RECONFIRMING ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, this Council desires to reestablish the salary of the Water Plant Superintendent.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Vermilion, Counties of Erie and Lorain, State of Ohio:
SECTION 1: That the Vermilion City Council hereby authorizes that the annual salary of the person now holding the full-time position of Water Plant Superintendent shall hereby be reestablished and amended at Eighty-Four Thousand Six Hundred Fifty-Two Dollars and Thirty-Nine Cents ($84,652.39) and that continuing increases as prescribed by the increases granted to the Local 860 Laborers International Union of North American are authorized herein. That all other terms and conditions of the above-mentioned ordinance shall remain unaffected hereby and hereby ratified and confirmed except as pertains to said amended salary applicable to the person now holding said office.
SECTION 2: That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to make payment of these amendatory wages effective upon passage of this ordinance along with the general payroll of the employees of the City of Vermilion. The Director of Finance shall also be authorized to make all other payments herein prescribed and shall do as so provided herein or if not specifically provided, in accordance with past practices.
SECTION 3: This Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were taken in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any committees that resulted in those formal actions were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with all requirements including Section 121.11 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 4: That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency for the public peace, health, and safety of the city, and the necessity being to ensure the efficient and effective operations of city services. Wherefore, this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval of the mayor, providing it meets the statutory requirements for passage; otherwise, it shall take effect and be enforced from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
