2024R-17 ACCEPT THE AWARD OF EIGHTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS

2024R-17 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF VERMILION, OHIO, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ERIE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO ACCEPT THE AWARD OF EIGHTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($85,000.00) THROUGH THE COMMUNITY INVESTMENT GRANT FOR THE SHEROD PARK COMFORT STATION (RESTROOM) PROJECT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Vermilion was awarded Eighty-Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00) by the Erie County Board of Commissioners through the Community Investment Grant for the Sherod Park Comfort Station (Restroom) Project.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Vermilion, Counties of Erie and Lorain, State of Ohio:

 

SECTION 1:  That the Mayor of the City of Vermilion, Ohio is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Erie County Board of Commissioners to accept the award of Eighty-Five Thousand Dollars ($85,000.00) through the Community Investment Grant for the Sherod Park Comfort Station (Restroom) Project with a local match of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) to be provided from Fund 204 (Parks Capital Levy).

 

THAT,  this City of Vermilion hereby finds and determines that all formal actions relative to the adoption of this Resolution were taken in an open meeting of this Board; and that all deliberations of this Board and of its committees, if any, which resulted in formal action, were taken in meetings open to the public, in full compliance with applicable legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Revised Code.

 

WHEREFORE, this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare; and the necessity for emergency being the Erie County Board of Commissioners would like to send out the agreements the week of August 12, 2024; wherefore this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and immediately after its passage and approval by the mayor.
