2026R-9 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF VERMILION, OHIO, TO ACCEPT THE AWARD OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000) THROUGH THE 136TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY CAPITAL BUDGET COMMUNITY PROJECTS FUND FOR THE SHOWSE PARK REVITALIZATION AND TRANSFORMATION PROJECT PHASE 3 (SPORTS COMPLEX) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Vermilion was awarded One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000) from the Ohio Capital Budget Bill through the 136th General Assembly Capital Budget Community Projects Fund for the Showse Park Revitalization and Transformation Project Phase 3 (Sports Complex).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Vermilion, Counties of Erie and Lorain, State of Ohio:
SECTION 1: That the Mayor of the City of Vermilion, Ohio is hereby authorized to accept the award of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) through the 136th General Assembly Capital Budget Community Projects Fund for the Showse Park Transformation and Revitalization Project Phase 3 (Sports Complex).
SECTION 2: This Council hereby finds and determines that all formal actions relative to the adoption of this Resolution were taken in an open meeting of this Board; and that all deliberations of this Board and of its committees, if any, which resulted in formal action, were taken in meetings open to the public, in full compliance with applicable legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Revised Code.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare; and the necessity for emergency being the Showse Park Revitalization and Transformation Project Phase 3 work can begin before inclement weather arrives; wherefore this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and immediately after its passage and approval by the mayor.
