2026R-8 APPROVAL TO FILE APP W/ERIE COUNTY FOR FIN AID FOR EPIC GRANT

2026R-8 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF VERMILION TO EXECUTE AND FILE AN APPLICATION WITH ERIE COUNTY FOR FINANCIAL AID ASSISTANCE UNDER THE EPIC CVB GRANT PROGRAM AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

WHEREAS, The Erie County Economic Development Program, administers financial assistance for public recreation purposes, through the Erie County Epic CVB Grant Program and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Vermilion desires financial assistance under the Epic CVB Grant Program,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERMILION, OHIO, ERIE COUNTY, OHIO:

 

SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of Vermilion, Ohio authorizes and directs the Parks Director to submit a grant application through Erie County Economic Development and to provide all information and documentation required to become eligible for possible funding assistance.

 

SECTION 2: That the Mayor of the City of Vermilion, Ohio is further authorized to sign any necessary documents related to said grant application and has the authority both in applying and if the grant is awarded to sign off on any additional requirements.

 

SECTION 3: That the City of Vermilion does agree to obligate the funds required to satisfactorily complete the proposed project identified as the Sherod Park Parking Lot Pavement Project and become eligible for reimbursement under the terms of the Epic CVB Grant Program.

 

SECTION 4:  This Council hereby finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were taken in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any committees that resulted in those formal actions were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.

 

SECTION 5: That this Resolution shall go into effect and be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage; the necessity for emergency as the grant deadline is June 30, 2026.
