Sherod Park, pronounced ‘Share-ed,’ named after Bessie Sherod who sold the property to the City of Vermilion in 1963, has become a beautiful passive park with a focus on fitness, wholesome family activities, and opportunities to explore nature.

There is 24 acres of fun.  This Vermilion park has a little of something for everyone.  A beach to swim, trails to walk, and a large state of the art playground.

Open green space is perfect for flying a kite, yard games, frisbee and RC cars.

The park has 2 rentable pavilions.  A large pavilion across from the playground and a smaller pavilion just a few yards away.

If you are interested in renting a pavilion, you can check availability, pricing and more at Pavilion Rentals.  (A free account must be set up to reserve a pavilion.)

Darlene's Wind Phone

Sherod Park even has a wind phone.  A phone that will never ring, that is connected to nowhere but can reach everywhere!  A rotary dial phone that works with your imagination and the wind.

Darlene's Wind Phone is an outlet to allow those grieving to make a call and let the wind carry their message.  It's a phone that for some may be an outlet to get rid of problems or thoughts that are burdening them.

Let the wind deliver your message.  It is great therapy!
