Volunteer fireman don't do it for the money, or to get paid. Don't do it for the glory, but for the life that might be saved.

When that call is to try and save one of their own, those first responders morph into the strongest hero's they will ever be, in a time they should feel the weakest completely.  

On June 10th, our Fire Department received a call for a male in full arrest.  That call was a call for one of their own.  Bill McCale, a Firefighter Engineer who had been dedicated to the City of Vermilion and more recently Vermilion Township.  Saturday night, the VFD and other first responders kneeled for Bill's family and the loss of their brother.  Today they will stand and save others in his honor.
